Look at the stitching. Feel the leather. Check the serial. We have done that for 16 years. Today's counterfeits get past all of it — sometimes past the brands themselves.

So we stopped relying on the human eye alone. We put a machine after it.

What Entrupy is

Entrupy photographs the surface of a bag at microscopic resolution and uses AI to compare it against a vast database of verified authentic pieces. It is the same class of technology used by authentication houses and major resellers worldwide, and its developers report an accuracy above 99%.

We run every eligible item through it, one at a time — not just the expensive ones, not just the ones that give us pause.

We do not write “authenticated” on things we did not authenticate

Entrupy's machine covers bags, small leather goods and footwear. It cannot process jewellery, watches, eyewear or textiles.

About 90% of our stock is Entrupy-eligible. The remaining 10% is not.

On those items the product page says plainly: “Entrupy's machine does not cover this category.” Claiming otherwise would be a lie.

Those pieces are still selected in person by our founder — a buyer with 16 years inside the Japanese dealer auctions — and every mark is shown in the photographs.

We do not hide damage

What hurts a buyer is not wear. It is finding something that was not described.

  • Scratches, scuffs and signs of use are photographed, not hidden
  • Condition is written out on every product page, item by item
  • If no accessories are included, we write “None”

If an item is not as described, return it within 10 days for a full refund.

Where our pieces come from

Everything is bought in person at Japanese dealer auctions — closed markets open only to licensed secondhand dealers. We are not passing along consignments sight unseen.

We operate under a Japanese secondhand dealer licence.
